CHECK-OVER
(MINI SERVICE)
Woodwind
If you require a simple service to maintain your instruments overall health then this may be the service for you. The check-over includes:

External clean of keywork and body (keywork still in place)

All regulation and seating checked and adjusted accordingly

Keywork oiled
-
Elimination of double action
-
Key cork/felt replaced as required
CHECK-OVER

If you require a simple service to maintain your instruments overall health then this may be the service for you. The check-over includes:

External clean and polish

Slides applied with new grease
-
Valves removed, externally cleaned and new oil applied

Water key replacement at a reduced price.
FULL SERVICE
Woodwind
The MOT of the instrument world- Our full service will include:

Full strip down of instrument with full clean of body and keywork

Rods cleaned and re-greased
-
All seating of pads, regulation and double action checked and adjusted accordingly

Key cork/felts replaced as required
-
Keywork oiled
-
Up to 3 pads and 2 springs replaced where necessary
Plus! Tenon/crook cork can be replaced at a discounted rate and any additional pads, springs and a variety of other parts will be charged at a discounted rate too!
FULL SERVICE

The MOT of the instrument world- Our full service will include:

Full strip down of instrument with full external clean

Internal clean with bath/soak

Valves fully cleaned and new oil applied

Slides extensively cleaned and re-greased

Water key corks replaced

Mouthpiece removed and cleaned at no extra cost.
Plus! Sets of valve guides, pearls, felts and a variety of other parts will be charged at a discounted rate!
OVERHAUL
Woodwind
The full monty! Your instrument will be completely overhauled to return it to as close to factory setting as possible, including:

Full re-pad

As many springs replaced as necessary

All tenon/crook cork replaced
-
Damaged rods and screws replaced
-
Cracks pinned in wooden instruments
-
Tone hole levelling
-
Soldering of pillars, collars and bell guard
And absolutely everything from the check-over and full service included too!
OVERHAUL
Brass
The full monty! Your instrument will be completely overhauled to return it to as close to factory setting as possible, including:

Any soldering work included
-
All valves replaced with new guides, felts and springs
-
All stuck slides removed and inner tubing replaced where needed
-
Finger rings replaced or repaired for first valve, pinky and third valve.
And absolutely everything from the check-over and full service included too!
OTHER SERVICES WE PROVIDE
SOLDER REPAIRS
All woodwind and brass instruments have soldered joints and occasionally these can come loose or may even need moving to compensate for the players comfort.
CRACK PINNING
Any wooden instrument will experience temperature changes that can cause cracks to form in the joints. In order to contain the damage, its best to get the crack pinned and filled with grenadilla chips.
TONE HOLE LEVELLING
Amazingly, most instruments from manufacture do not always have level tone holes which in some cases can cause resistance when playing, we can strip, check and adjust the leveling for you!
FLUTE BODY STRAIGHTENING
We all dread that moment when we sit on our own flute! Well if that happens then we can straighten the body back for you and ensure everything is working as it should.
FALL DAMAGE REPAIRS
No matter how careful we are, instruments can take a tumble sometimes but we have dealt with the major and minor repercussions from this for many of our customers so rest assured that help is at hand! Repairing an instrument after a fall may take minutes or even hours but we will give an estimated time to complete the work so you can receive a rough price as to the time it will take.

You can find us in our fully kitted out workshops within Your Music School, Canterbury. We have one workshop specially designed for general repairs and a second workshop for all specialist jobs, offering even more availability for customers!
Simply ask at reception or contact us direct- If we are in then feel free to pop up for a socially distanced coffee with us so we can talk all things repairs!

Instrument handling, return and quotes will be arranged directly with you to ensure we can accommodate all our customers. Here are our personal opening hours:

We now have two fully functioning workshops kitted out with lots of amazing equipment ready to fix your instruments! Our workshops are situated inside Your Music School (YMS) in Canterbury where you can also visit us during their opening times to book an appointment or see us face to face if we are working at the time.
